Our education system consists of two main sections, namely ‘Formal Education’ and ‘Non-Formal Education’.

Formal Education begins  with pre-school education and includes Primary, Secondary, Higher and Special Education. All other educational activities outside of these are referred door Formal Education. Formal education is compulsory until the age of 15.

Depending on personal preferences, formal education can be continued in public schools or in private schools under the supervision of the TRNC Ministry of Education.

In addition, there are state and private schools that continue their activities in the field of special education, serving individuals with different developmental needs between the ages of 0 – 35,  (TRNC Special Education Foundation-www.kktcozev.com-, Gazimağusa Special Education Centre- gmozelegitim.mebnet.net, etc.).
