4 April, 2016Speaking at a panel held at the Brookings Institute, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said: “Our determination is continuing to reach a fair and permanent solution as a motherland and a guarantor country on the Cyprus issue. Our priority is to achieve a comprehensive settlement on the Cyprus issue and guarantee the political equality and legitimate rights of the Turkish Cypriots. We hope that the current positive atmosphere will continue by reinitiating the stalled negotiations in May and welcome the opportunity as well.
