29 May, 2015President Mustafa Akıncı, Speaker of the Assembly Sibel Siber, Prime Minister Özkan Yorgancıoğlu, 3rd President Derviş Eroğlu and 2nd President Mehmet Ali Talat received first e- ID cards of the TRNC.
First steps of Electronic İdentity cards which is within the scope of electronic state (e-state) that is carried out by Ministry of Interior Affairs and Republic of Turkey’s Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication were taken yesterday.
Minister of Interior Affairs Teberrüken Uluçay said “Our aim is to start giving e- identity card beginning from Monday”.
Id cards that are going to be the core of e- state are intended to be proper to international standards, modern and give better quality service and are equipped with high quality and hard to copy security characteristics.
With this implementation while providing verification of ID at electronic environment, it İs also aimed to stop victimization of citizens arising from ID forgery.
