23 March, 2018Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kudret Özersay made a statement about the news regarding the Immovable Property Commission (IPC) in the Greek Cypriot press.
Özersay said that the decision taken some time ago in the European Court of Human Rights did not change the reality, which is that the Immovable Property Commission is an effective domestic remedy for settling property disputes.
He stated that reports in the Greek Cypriot press, which claim that the Immovable Property Commission is ineffective and no longer considered as a useful domestic solution, are untrue.
“The judgement does not declare the IPC to be ineffective. The Immovable Property Commission continues to be an effective domestic remedy within the framework of the latest decision of the ECHR,” said Özersay.
