25 March, 2024The 60th anniversary of the Gaziveren and Çamlıköy Resistance and the martyrs who fell were commemorated with two seperate ceremonies today.
President Ersin Tatar, Speaker of the TRNC Assembly Zorlu Töre, some MPs, local authorities, military officials, and the local community attended the ceremonies.
Speaking at the ceremonies, President Tatar emphasized that the Turkish Cypriot people owe their living in peace, tranquility and security in Cyprus and having a state in the Eastern Mediterranean to the prices paid during those years and to the martyrs.
Pointing out that 60 years have passed since the Gaziveren and Çamlıköy Resistance and that the struggle of the Turkish Cypriots under isolations and embargoes since those days continues, President Tatar noted that we are still continuing our noble struggle to carry our children to the future in peace and security in this country.
