The great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Republic of Türkiye was commemorated this morning on the 87th anniversary of his passing with ceremonies and events held across the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
A minute of silence was observed at 09:05 a.m., the exact time of Atatürk’s passing, throughout the country, accompanied by sirens, while national flags were lowered to half-mast.
Commemoration ceremonies were held across the country, particularly in the capital city of Lefkoşa, as well as in all districts and towns, to honor Atatürk’s memory.
