8 June, 2016Greek Cypriots and Greeks living in the US, think a solution of the Cyprus problem in 2016 is baseless. Hellene-American Leadership Council (HALC) CEO Andy Zemenidis said, “There is no commitment that the US Government would finance the settlement, therefore expectations for the solution of the Cyprus problem in 2016 is baseless.”
According to the report of the Greek Cypriot newspaper Simerini, Zemenidis said, “The US Government says that they will find ways to contribute to the reunification, but there is no indication about the amount of the contribution that they will make except discourses and this indicates that a solution up to November 2016 is totally unrealistic. The US Congress will be closed in October 2016.”
