15 December, 2015In one of his interviews which was published in the Greek Cypriot media, the Greek Cypriot Foreign Minister Yoannis Kasulidis mentioned his belief about reaching a solution in 2016, and he also expressed that a compromise on guarantees with Turkey is possible.
In his interview published in the Greek Cypriot daily newspaper Politis, Kasulidis stated that the Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades said that a continuous progress is in process, but the overall image for a prediction can be reached when the territory and security issues are discussed.
Indicating that although a great distance has been covered in the negotiations, there are more issues to get over, Kasulidis said that the Greek Cypriot side does not want to create wrong impressions and therefore they are trying to be realistic.
Furthermore, Kasulidis stressed that as well as having excessive expectations is a wrong approach, it is equally wrong to create an impression that this effort is similar to all other previous efforts and that it is one of what has been seen for 41 years.
