Yılmaz: “We have never abandoned the Turkish Cypriots”

Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT) Numan Kurtulmuş stated that Türkiye has taken all necessary measures to ensure that recent developments in the region do not adversely affect the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Kurtulmuş received a delegation from the TRNC Republican Assembly Friendship Group.
During the meeting held at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, the delegation was accompanied by the TRNC Ambassador to Ankara, İsmet Korukoğlu.
Speaking at the meeting, GNAT Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş stated that the recent exchange of missiles in the region has also rendered Cyprus a potential target. In this context F-16 fighter jets have been deployed to the island. He emphasized that Türkiye will stand by the Turkish Cypriot people under all circumstances.
Stressing that any approach that disregards the Turkish Cypriot people is unacceptable, Kurtulmuş underlined the importance of maintaining the vision of a two-state solution on the agenda of international platforms.
