A ceremony was held to mark the near completion of the expansion project at the Metehan crossing point in Lefkoşa.
The event was attended by the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Cyprus and Head of UNFICYP, Khassim Diagne, Presidential Undersecretary Mehmet Dana, and the Greek Cypriot Negotiator Menelaos Menelaou.
According to a statement from the Presidency, the event underscored the importance of cooperation and confidence-building measures in easing daily life.
