30 May, 2016Leaders are going to meet on 2 June, 2016, for children’s future with a view to reuniting the island under a federal system.
President Mustafa Akıncı and the Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades will attend the event in the buffer zone with the participation of Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot pupils in respect of World’s Children Day within the framework of the confidence building measures
This is the first event organized by the Technical Committee for Education in which the children will form small bi-communal groups and participate in activities at different workshops.
The committee was established urgently because of the attacks on Turkish Cypriots in their cars by Greek Cypriot students on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of the TRNC.
