Martyrs Week Commemorations held across the TRNC

Commemoration ceremonies were held across the TRNC as part of 21–25 December Struggle and Martyrs Week, honouring those who lost their lives in the Turkish Cypriot people’s struggle for existence, freedom and dignity.

Remembrance events took place in Gazimağusa, Girne, Güzelyurt and İskele, where speakers highlighted the sacrifices of martyrs, recalled the hardships of the past and underlined the honourable resistance of the Turkish Cypriot people. Ceremonies included speeches, poetry recitals by students, prayers for the fallen and visits to martyrs’ cemeteries and monuments.
