18 May, 2026The 11 Turkish Cypriots, who were abducted from the bus and martyred by Greek Cypriot forces in Larnaca on May 13, 1964, while on their way to work were remembered in a commemorative ceremony.
The martyrs who were thrown into a dry well after being killed and whose identities were established 43 years later through the efforts of the Committee on Missing Persons, were remembered on the anniversary of their martyrdom at the monument on the İskele-Karpaz main road.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Labour and Social Security Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu, Member of Parliament Zorlu Töre, İskele District Governor Ertuğrul Toroslu, İskele Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu, along with other officials and relatives of the martyrs.
