5 December, 2016The missing martyr Ramadan Ahmet who went missing on Arodez-Tere road in 1963 has been buried in Gazimağusa.
His remains were found during the excavation works of the Committee on Missing Persons in Polemi village of Paphos in South Cyprus.Ahmet was laid to rest with a military ceremony at the Canbulat Martyrdom in Gazimağusa.
Speaking on behalf of the family during the funeral ceremony, the missing martyr’s granddaughter Zübeyde Özmanyera said that her mother lost her father – when she was 1.5 and stated that she remembered her mother always having sad moments on Father’s day.
Özmanevra also stated that her grandfather Ramadan Ahmet was intercepted and killed by the Greek Cypriots in 1963.
In her speech, she thanked the Missing Persons Committee in Cyprus for their efforts.
