10 March, 2016A Monument will be built in “Konstantinu and Eleni Cemetery” for EOKA commandos who attacked to the Greek Cypriot leader Makarios the III during the coup on July 15th 1974.
The Greek Cypriot Haravgi newspaper reported that the “All Cyprus Democratic Insurgents Association” is preparing to protest the monument which is being built with the sponsorship of Greek Cypriot government.
The newspaper also reported that the association qualified the project as “monument of shame” and emphasized that this monument means “insult against coup resistant” and “falsification of history”.
Furthermore, the association stated that a protest action will be held on Saturday and called all the Greek political parties and democratic masses to join the action.
