3 April, 2023Vice President of Republic of Türkiye Fuat Oktay expressed that they are determined to take the necessary steps seriously and without wasting time to bring the TRNC to a sustainable economy.
Oktay gave a speech at the press conference held following the signing of the 2023 Economic and Financial Cooperation Protocol between the TRNC and the Republic of Türkiye.
Oktay started his speech by condemning the attack against TRNC President Ersin Tatar in London and wishing the President well.
Oktay said, “The intolerance encountered by President Tatar is an indication of the mentality that tries to make the solution impossible in Cyprus. Turkish Cypriots and the sovereignty of the Turkish Cypriots are our core issue.”
Furthermore, stating that the meetings regarding 2023 Economic and Financial Cooperation Protocol, infrastructure investments and enlivening the economy were completed, Oktay pointed out that the developments regarding the solution of the Cyprus problem and the opening of Maraş were also evaluated during the meetings.
