Akıncı – Guterres meeting brought forward to Friday 28th September

28 September, 2018President Mustafa Akıncı met with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini within the framework of his contacts in New York.
The Cyprus issue and the relationships between the Turkish Cypriot side and the EU were discussed and they also exchanged views at the meeting which was held at 00.30 Cyprus time at the EU Delegation building in New York.
President Mustafa Akıncı conveyed his thoughts to Federica Mogherini regarding the sensitivity and expectations of the Turkish Cypriot people, who always proved their determination to resolve the Cyprus issue and also mentioned his thoughts about the constructive role that should be played by the EU.
