30 March, 2016The President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz who paid visits in the island met with President Mustafa Akıncı.
President Mustafa Akıncı stated that the meeting with the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz was very fruitful and he added that the relationship between the European Parliament (EP), which is one of the important institutions of the EU, and the Turkish Cypriots had reached a better position and he mentioned that Turkish Cypriots will take place in the European family in order to share a common future.
Following the meeting, Akıncı made a brief statement to the press. Pointing out that Schulz is a person who supports the Cyprus issue wholeheartedly, Akıncı mentioned that he had given information about the latest stage reached regarding the Cyprus problem and expressed his thanks for the provided support.
