President Tatar issues a message to mark 27-28 January Resistance

President Ersin Tatar, in his message issued on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the events which the British Colonial Administration used disproportionate force and caused the martyrs of 7 people (5 in Lefkoşa and 2 in Gazimağusa) and the injury of many people, made the following statements:

“The events of the 27-28 January Resistance has great importance in terms of being an uprising that shows that the Turkish Cypriots want to live freely in Cyprus with their own national and religious identity and self-governance.

The dream of Enosis of the Greek-Greek Cypriot duo has been going on since the British colonial administration. This dream is at the basis of the lies told to the world and the inhumane practices applied by the world to the Turkish Cypriots.

Turkish Cypriots are ready to make every sacrifice for their freedom and security today as they were yesterday.”
