3 October, 2024President Ersin Tatar met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York.
President Tatar made a statement to the press following his meeting with Guterres and said that for the second time this year, he had a face-to-face meeting with the Secretary-General.
Adding that the position of the Turkish Cypriot side is clear, the President said that they are ready to start a new and formal negotiation process for a fundamental settlement of the Cyprus problem, provided that our inherent rights, namely our sovereign equality and equal international status, are recognised.
