Project for Köprülü Bird Watching Center continues

Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Hakan Dinçyürek examined the studies of project for Köprülü Bird Watching Center on site. The project is conducted together with European Union, Beyarmudu Municipality and North Cyprus Society for Protection of Birds and Nature (KUŞKOR) and is aimed to be completed in 2016.

Hakan Dinçyürek made a statement following the examination and stated that the aim was to organize tourism and eco-day activities especially during the migration time of the birds.

Dinçyürek explained that the project will enable the people to visit the area in groups without scaring the birds. The project coordinator of the EU Support Office Alessandra Viezzer pointed out that the project is a study supported by the EU and added that the factor of cooperation is in the foreground.
Viezzer drew attention that the project is an important project because municipalities, non-governmental organizations and central administrations move together and make efforts. Stating that the project is supported within the context of aid program for Turkish Cypriot community, Viezzer said “it is one of the projects considered very important by the European Union”.
