25 August, 2017The racist attacks against Turkish Cypriots in the Greek Cypriot side continue.
A Turkish Cypriot taxi driver, who picked up a group of British tourists from Larnaca Airport in the Greek Cypriot side of the island and was taking them to Northern Cyprus, was attacked by a group of Greek Cypriot fanatics.
Turkish Cypriot taxi driver Aziz Canaş went through a horrible situation as his taxi was damaged by Greek Cypriot fanatics in front of the Greek Cypriot sports club Apoel while driving the group of British tourists at 1:00 yesterday morning.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The driver said that the assailants tried to open the doors of the taxi but failed because they were locked.
Later, Aziz Canaş reported the incident to a Greek Cypriot police officer, who said that they would investigate the matter, although he didn’t seem to approach the incident seriously as happened with similar events in the past.
