Akıncı: ‘Extremely positive and gratifying development’
23 September, 2020Özersay had a teleconference meeting with Lacroix
23 September, 2020Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kudret Özersay reacted to the statement of the Greek Cypriot Foreign Minister Nikos Hristodulidis that the Greek Cypriot side cannot accept participation of the Turkish Cypriots to the conference.
“Spoiled Greek Cypriot leadership considers that they will usurp the rights of the Turkish Cypriots, who they always try to disregard. Since both communities should vote at two separate referenda when the future of Cyprus will be decided, in the same way the will of the Turkish Cypriots is needed in order to solve the problems on the issue of natural gas and maritime zones. Therefore, the power of Hristodulidis and the Greek Cypriot side is unable to exclude the Turkish Cypriot side from any meeting or platform” Özersay stressed.
