26 April, 2018President Mustafa Akıncı has received Archpriest of Lebanese Maronites Namatallah Hashem and his accompanying delegation yesterday. During their meeting, they discussed restoration works at Prophet Elias Monastery in Gürpınar and issues which affect Maronites living on the island.
Hashem thanked President Akıncı for the restoration of the Prophet Elias Monastery, and for including the monastery on the list of sites to be renovated by the Cultural Heritage Technical Committee.
