3 August, 2015Tözün Tunalı, President of the Social Democrat Party (SDP), said: ‘We expect some steps forward towards lifting the embargos imposed for years on the Turkish Cypriot youth now that the negotiation process is very productive.’
Tunalı, said in his written statement on the subject that several associations are striving to have the Turkish Cypriot youth play sports, however, we should face the fact that the Turkish Cypriots sportspeople are not recognized worldwide’.
Pointing out that the sports are the only thing that unites the whole world, Tunalı emphasized that there is no hostility in sports.
Stating that the Turkish Cypriot youth are waiting to compete with the international sportspeople, Tunalı said: ‘Our suggestion, as SDP, is that our leader, Mr. Akıncı, puts forward the proposal of lifting the embargos imposed on the Turkish Cypriot youth in the first meeting on behalf of the Turkish Cypriot youth’.
