Leader of KS EDEK Marinos Sizopulos stated that his party’s decision of refusing bi-communal and bi-zonal federation is not taken during his leadership period but in the period of previous leadership of EDEK.
In an interview with Greek Cypriot daily Kathimerini, Sizopulos refuted the claims that his party has been divided concerning the Cyprus problem and stated that the proposals he submitted to EDEK Central Committee related with some subjects concerning the procedure were accepted by all members of the party. Stating that there are some divergences but they are not important, Sizopulos pointed out that the reason of refusing bi-zonal and bi-communal federation is to determine some con-federal and racist factors.

Criticizing himself for not succeeding to establish a relation with the Turkish Cypriots, Sizopulos put forth his intention of developing relations with the groups who share same dreams and ideas with the party.
