11 March, 2016Speaking after his meeting with the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said, “There are some encouraging signs regarding a solution in Cyprus. We support the efforts in this regard and we are pleased with the progress which has been made.”
NATO General Secretary said that “it would be wrong to make guesses for an agreement” but stressed that “there are encouraging signs”.He noted that “progress has been made” and welcomed the efforts by the UN. He added, “we support to end a conflict which exists many decades now.”
President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker expressed Thursday optimism that soon a solution to the Cyprus problem will be reached.
Juncker said he recently saw the two negotiators and he is optimistic. He said he believes there will be a solution soon and that “the whole atmosphere in the region will change.”
