Support from Özersay to Akıncı

Ex negotiator Prof. Dr. Kudret Özersay gave support to President Mustafa Akıncı’s statements regarding specific majority in bi-zonality and on the issue of the EU primary law.

Özersay expressed: “I give full support to the President as long as he abides by the issue of bi-zonality and negotiates under the parameters of the UN.”

Stating that by the specific majority in bi-zonality he meant not a constituent state which comprised of only Turkish Cypriots in the 21^st century, Özersay stated that a regulation is necessary for the Turkish Cypriot people in order to have specific majority in terms of both population and immovable property.

Moreover Özersay said that this is a settled UN parameter rather than being the demand of the Turkish Cypriot side.
