Özyiğit: “Tension affects the settlement process negatively”

26 May, 2016Stating that the main aim of the Greek Cypriot administration is “to remove Turkey from Cyprus and to dominate the Turkish Cypriots”, National Unity Party Lefkoşa deputy Ersin Tatar said, “Turkish Cypriot people and President Mustafa Akıncı are not toys of Anastasiades. We should make our own destiny.”
In his written statement Tatar stated that the Greek Cypriot people and the Administration are far from an understanding which accepts the Turkish Cypriot people as their equal partners. Ersin Tatar said, “The results of the parliamentary elections in the South should be read correctly. Fascist ELAM have increased their vote rates threefold and also other extreme right-wing parties gained strength. AKEL and DISI are considered as responsible for the economic problems of the Greek Cypriot people and have lost 14% of votes and 30% of the people did not go to the polls to protest, all of this should be considered wisely.”
