3 September, 2015While entering a critical period in the negotiations, Greek Cypriot Foreign Minister Yannis Kasulidis evaluated the latest developments in Cyprus to Sputnik. Kasulidis stated that the distance which separates the parties from each other is gradually decreasing and the formation of a federal system based on constituting states is approaching. Kasulidis also added that the Russian Federation transition model has been envisaged for Cyprus and a solution has been found on the issue of the citizens of the Republic of Turkey in the island.
Currently holding the door closed for the cooperation with Turkey on natural gas the experienced diplomat expressed that the guarantors were unnecessary on the island. Kasulidis also stated that some powers were trying to destroy the relations of South Cyprus with Russia in the past. (Kıbrıs Postası)
