25 November, 2016Responding to the questions of MPs at the General Assembly of the Parliament, Türkeş stated that the Greek Cypriot side give the appearance of negotiating, but then take every opportunity to escape from the negotiations.
“Despite President Mustafa Akıncı’s good intentions, the efforts of the negotiators and the support of the Turkish government, a reconciliation point could not be found. The expectation was to reach a settlement by the end of 2016. The latest developments show that if the Greek Cypriot side continues with its current attitude, we will not reach a settlement” Türkeş stressed.
