11 January, 2023The President of Supreme Election Board (YSK) Narin Ferdi Şefik announced the unofficial results of the TRNC local elections held yesterday (25th December).
Accordingly, Republican Turkish Party (CTP) won 7 municipalities, National Unity Party (UBP) 6, Communal Democracy Party (TDP) 1, Democrat Party (DP) 1 and independent candidates won 3 municipalities. The participation rate in the election was announced as 68.85 percent.
YSK President Şefik announced the mayors elected in 18 municipalities after all 767 ballot boxes in the country were opened. Underlining that the results are not official yet, Şefik wished the results to be auspicious.
