15 October, 2025Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said that the Republic Assembly’s approval of the Two-State Solution to the Cyprus issue demonstrated to the world their determination to defend the state, sovereignty, and stability.
Üstel stated that the decision, supported by a majority in the Assembly, officially confirmed the Two-State Solution vision and reflected the collective will of the Turkish Cypriot people. He underlined that this policy, based on sovereign equality, self-governance, and independent statehood, has now become an institutional stance.
He added that, under President Ersin Tatar’s leadership, the decision marks the transition from “federal dreams” to the reality of a sovereign state deeply rooted in Turkish Cypriot politics. Üstel emphasized that the move aligns with the Motherland Türkiye’s calls for recognition at the United Nations and reaffirmed: “There will be no step back from our sovereignty, no concession from our state, and no retreat from our stability.”
