29 August, 2025Vice President of Türkiye, Cevdet Yılmaz, concluded his two-day official visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) during he attended in significant functions, held talks with state and government authorities.
During his visit, Yılmaz also attended the launch of TRNC’s new e-government mobile application at the Presidential Complex.
Highlighting that today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape neither Türkiye nor the TRNC could afford to fall behind, Yılmaz said “in a climate where unjust and inhumane isolation is imposed on the TRNC, the digital world opens many doors,” stressing that the system’s represents only a starting point.
He further underlined that the critical importance of integrating educational institutions, municipal administrations, and the private sector into the broader digital infrastructure.
Prior to ending his visit, Yılmaz took part in a high-level summit at the Presidential Complex with President Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, and coalition leaders.
Following these discussions, Yılmaz and Tatar held a joint press conference, where Yılmaz reiterated Türkiye’s unwavering support for the TRNC’s economic development and its commitment to the two-state vision.
Expressing to the prevailing period of political stability in the TRNC, Yılmaz noted that close collaborative efforts with Türkiye, has expedited mutual initiatives, adding that the impending fiber-optic network initiative, investments in road infrastructure, and healthcare projects as instances of swift advancement.
He also claimed that converting the TRNC into an “information island” would be one of the powerful ways to response to the isolations imposed on Turkish Cypriots.
