Ziya Öztürkler in Astana for TURKPA General Assembly

Ziya Öztürkler, Speaker of the TRNC Parliament is currently in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, to attend the 14th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA). As part of the official program, Öztürkler was received by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev along with the heads of other delegations participating in the session.

According to a statement issued by the TRNC Assembly, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş, Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan Sahibe Gafarova, Kyrgyz Parliament Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek, Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan Nurdinjon Ismailov, and Speaker of the Majilis of Kazakhstan Yerlan Koshanov were also present at the reception.

During the meeting, Speaker Öztürkler emphasized that the TRNC considers itself an integral part of the Turkic world and that its presence in Astana is one of the most meaningful expression of this sense of belonging.
