In a meeting Turkish National Defence Minister Hulusi Akar said ‘We won’t allow any decision against our rights as well as the rights of our Turkish Cypriot brothers. We have defended our rights and the rights of the Turkish Cypriot people up to now and we will continue to do so for all time.’

Akar expressed that Turkey’s activities in the Aegean, Eastern Mediterranean and Cyprus is continuing and said ‘This should not be viewed as a threat, we believe every problem could be solved within the framework of good neighbourly relations and international law. However our respect of the international law is not our weakness. We won’t allow any decision to be taken in any way against the rights of Turkey and the Turkish Cypriots’.
