President Mustafa Akıncı pointed out that Turkish Cypriot community has been kept out of international law and he said “It is a matter of our usurped rights. We desire a solution based on equal partnership.”
President Mustafa Akıncı made a statement to the press at İstanbul Atatürk Airport yesterday before going to New York upon the invitation of the UN Secretary- General Ban Ki Moon. Akıncı pointed out that Cyprus negotiation process has been continuing for many years and no result has been achieved up till today. Akıncı also stated that he wishes to protect the rights of both sides, to create a new settlement in cooperation and to establish a much better future for the next generations at the new process.
Moreover, Akıncı stated that solution parameters are clear and the latest conclusive framework was on the 11 February, 2014.
