Beyarmudu Martyrs commemorated

A ceremony was held to commemorate six people who were martyred in Beyarmudu during the years of the National Struggle.

In his speech at the ceremony, President Tatar underlined that the Turkish Cypriots had suffered greatly until 1974, stressing that the martyrs will never be forgotten.

Touching on the Cyprus issue in his speech, Tatar stated that independence and freedom would not be compromised and that an agreement based on sovereignty was indispensable.

Pointing out that forming a partnership with the Greek Cypriots is not as easy as it seems, Tatar said, “They see us as a minority. We saw this at the meetings in New York as well.”
