Cypriot Leaders to meet in New York on July 16

The Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot leaders are scheduled to meet in New York on July 16.

According to the spokesperson of the United Nations Secretary General, the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar and the Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Hristodoulides will convene at the initiative of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

Representatives of the guarantor countries, Türkiye, Greece and the United Kingdom will also attend the unofficial meeting, which is set to last for two days.

In a statement, the UN noted that the parties will have the opportunity to review progress and developments since the Geneva summit.

The previous meeting in this format took place on March 17–18 in Geneva.
