24 October, 2017The Turkish Cypriot author Sevil Emirzade, who is known for her performances and poetry, has been shortlisted for the “Pentasi B Golden Sound of Poem 2017” award at the India World Poetry Festival in Hyderabad, India.
Guests of honour include Ghana’s Minister of State for Private Sector Development and Public Private Partnership Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, and Indian film Director B. Narsing Rao, who has won many international awards. Srinivas Rao Boinapally is one of the principal sponsors of the festival, which took place at Ramoji Film City – home to the largest film studio complex in the world.
Poets, authors and academics from 20 countries, including Austria, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Philippines, Ghana, South Africa, Italy, Canada, TRNC, Egypt, Nepal, Taiwan, Turkey and Greece, were in attendance. Over 130 Indian artists read poems and introduced books.
Emirzade also received the Fellow of the Regal World of Scribes (FRWS) award, a medal from Writers Corner in Warangal, India and the Enchanting Muse Award (International Award).
