In his address, Minister Fidan also called upon OIC member states to extend their full support for the inalienable rights of the Turkish Cypriots.
Emphasizing that there are two peoples and two states on the island of Cyprus, Fidan said: “The Turkish Cypriot State, an inseparable part of the Islamic world, holds observer status in the OIC.
Minister Fidan further underscored the ongoing challenges faced by Turkish Cypriots, noting that regrettably, the Turkish Cypriot people have been subjected to unjust and inhumane isolation for decades.
He concluded by urging OIC Member States to take concrete steps to support the legitimate rights of the Turkish Cypriots and to engage in direct and meaningful contact with them.”
