İstanbul Declaration emphasizes importance of enhancing engagement with Turkish Cypriot Muslims  

In the joint “İstanbul Declaration” issued following the 51st Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the importance of enhancing engagement with the Turkish Cypriot Muslims was underlined with the aim of overcoming the unjust isolation imposed upon them and achieving a negotiated, mutually acceptable, just, lasting, and sustainable solution to the Cyprus issue.

The declaration reaffirmed the principled stance of the OIC, emphasizing respect for the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, and national unity, as well as non-interference in the internal affairs. It was stated that the desire of Turkish Cypriot Muslims to secure their natural rights was supported.
