6 April, 2016CTP-UBP Coalition Government has resigned. The resignation of the coalition government has been presented to President Akıncı by Prime Minister Ömer Kalyoncu
Accepting the resignation of Prime Minister Kalyoncu, President Akıncı announced that he will meet with the political parties to ensure the formation of a new government as soon as possible.
President Akıncı also met with the Political Party Leaders and Representatives at the Assembly in order to determine which political parties will form the new government.
