6 April, 2016National Unity Party (UBP) Lefkoşa deputy Ersin Tatar stated that he invited President Mustafa Akıncı to explain the truth to the Turkish Cypriot people in order to put an end to the speculations and the difficulties in the economic life.
Pointing out some news in the Greek Cypriot newspapers concerning the negotiations, Tatar stated that some rumours started that the land issue has started to be discussed.
Defending that special statute regions will eliminate “bi-zonality”, one of the basic parameters of the Cyprus issue, Tatar argued that a structure with the cantons bounded to the constituent states, and the special statute regions connected to the federal state will cause substantial damages for the Turkish Cypriots.
