6 September, 2016The Turkish Cypriot Team Leader of the Technical Committee on Crime and Criminal Issues,
Lawyer Hakkı Önen, stated that “We share information with the Greek Cypriots in order to tackle crime but they are unwilling to extradite Turkish Cypriot criminals who have escaped to South Cyprus.”
Önen stated that a request to return 19 Turkish Cypriots who committed an offence in the North and escaped to South Cyprus was rejected by officials from South Cyprus.
