According to a statement from the TRNC Presidency, President Tufan Erhürman met with Khassim Diagne, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus and his accompanying delegation at the Presidency.
During the meeting, President Erhürman delivered a letter to be conveyed to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
In his letter responding to the congratulatory message sent by Guterres on 27 October 2025, President Erhürman wrote:
“I would like to express my satisfaction and gratitude for your continued personal interest and contributions toward the resolution of the Cyprus issue.”
Expressing his readiness to work closely and resolutely with the Secretary-General Guterres to achieve a just, viable, and lasting settlement in Cyprus, President Erhürman stated: “I believe that such a settlement will also yield positive effects for our region.”
