President Ersin Tatar stated that the 2023–2024 Report on Türkiye adopted on May 07 by the European Parliament’s (EP) Plenary Session, is another biased, delusive and politically motivated document that disregards the will of the Turkish Cypriot people.
In his written statement President Tatar, noted: “The European Union lost its impartiality on the Cyprus issue, by violating its own principles and admitting the Greek Cypriot side as a full member in 2004. Therefore, it is unrealistic to expect EU institutions to adopt any stance other stan serving as spokespersons for the Greek Cypriot side.”
President Tatar also underlined that, “The visit of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is one of the strongest expressions of the Turkish Cypriot people’s will and their sovereignty over their land.”
Concluding his remark, President Tatar emphasized that the TRNC is one of the undeniable and indisputable realities of the island and stated that such futile attempts to disregard the sovereignty of the Turkish Cypriot people have no validity.
