Addressing the 11th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) in Bishkek, the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic, President Ersin Tatar stated that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has the potential to contribute to the Turkic world with its strength and capacity.

Indicating that the connections of the Turkic world in the Eastern Mediterranean have strengthened with the membership of the TRNC to the OTS, President Tatar said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which is an integral part of the Turkic world, is determined to work in every field in which the OTS operates with its institutions and organisations.

Emphasising that importance for the development of economic relations and cooperation between countries as stated in the 2040 vision of the Organisation, President Tatar noted that efforts are being made to revive the historical Silk Road Project and that the TRNC is located at a strategic point in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The President stressed that the support to be given for the lifting of the unjust isolation imposed on the Turkish Cypriot community is important.
