2 September, 2016A protest was held last Saturday by a group of around 200 Greek Cypriot farmers, potato exporters and Members of Parliament, against a Greek Cypriot trader, Hristos Hristofi, who buys potatoes from the TRNC under the Green Line Regulation (GLR) in order to export them.
According to a report by Alithia, a Greek Cypriot newspaper, the seven MPs at the protest were from DISI, ELAM and the Solidarity Movement.
Mr Hristofi is now said to be considering cancelling the new order, Alithia reports.
The Greek Cypriot Minister of Agriculture Nikos Kuyalis stated that all activities undertaken by the Greek Cypriot potato exporter were fair, legal and within the scope of the Green Line Regulations.
