30 March, 2016The President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz met with the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot political party leaders and representatives in the buffer zone at the Ledra Palace hotel under the auspices of the Embassy of Slovakia in Nicosia.
Addressing the meeting, Schulz, who paid an official visit to Cyprus, said that the EU is living in turbulent and dramatic times noting that the EU was never in its history in such challenged times as is the case today.
As regards the Cyprus issue, he expressed the view that in case of a solution and reunification, this would convey a message of hope throughout Europe.
